These are gauze 4x4 pads. When my wound was large I needed 6 in the wound plus the big pad on top. Now I use three to four in the wound with a smaller gauze topper on top.

These are the gauze toppers I have been using to top the bandages for the last two months. I switched from ABD pads to these since my wound was draining so little.

Here is the tape I use. It is micropore tape made by 3m. I have been using the 3 inch wide tape lately. One strip down each side of the topper.

Here is a picture of an ABD (abdominal) pad and Nu-gauze. On the right is an ABD pad, (still in package), which I used as a topper when my wound drained a lot. The Nu-Gauze is useful for filling small wounds.

Here are some products which help keep the wound environment moist. I used saline for the first 4 months, then switched to hydrogels once the wound was small enough.

Here are some pictures of the supplies I have been using throughout my healing process. If you have the open surgery you will need a lot of them. The packing is changed twice a day. Inside the wound we use gauze pads moistened in saline solution with an ABD pad on top. A removable shower head has worked great to cleanse the entire wound area in the mornings.

If your insurance does not cover the supplies, I suggest ordering them from a website such as http://www.vitalitymedical.com or http://www.allegromedical.com. I have been using Vitality Medical.
